Description

This stately 3-Story building was constructed entirely of dressed sandstone. The earlier section was built in the 1830’s with the later addition in 1860. The house contains 16 rooms and 7 fireplaces.

The house was constructed by Edward Smith about the same time as Uzal Headley built the Headley Inn. Sandstone was quarried from a nearby cliff, and as a result, the house has been referred to as “Cliff Rock House”. The land was purchased by Edward Smith in 1826 and the “Land Grant” was signed by President John Quincy Adams.

This property will be on the auction block Saturday August 11th (Personal property @ 10 am & Real Estate @ 12 Noon) Live at the property by Jeff Koehler, Auctioneer/Realtor, Brokerage: Lepi & Associates Real Estate Services.
